Mr. Parada is a licensed civil and structural engineer with more than 25 years of experience in civil engineering, structural design, construction management, and forensic engineering. His expertise spans land development, site grading and drainage, roadway reconstruction, structural analysis, and the investigation of property damage resulting from natural hazards and construction-related impacts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Parada has managed and supported complex infrastructure and construction projects, including serving as Utility Program Coordinator for a multi-billion-dollar rehabilitation program at Newark Liberty International Airport and as Resident Engineer for a multi-million-dollar school site improvement project.
His engineering experience includes the inspection and evaluation of earth-retaining structures, shallow and deep foundation systems, reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, and geotechnical investigations involving soil sampling and testing. In the forensic engineering field, he has performed cause-and-origin investigations and damage assessments for residential and commercial properties affected by flooding, storm surge, wind events, foundation settlement, construction vibrations, sinkholes, and moisture intrusion. His evaluations encompass roofing systems, plumbing failures, building envelope deficiencies, groundwater intrusion, vapor intrusion, and fenestration-related water infiltration.
As a structural engineer, Mr. Parada has conducted wind load analyses for residential, commercial, and high-rise buildings and designed structural systems including beams, roof framing, reinforced concrete retaining walls, and other load-bearing components. He also performs building condition assessments and develops repair plans and construction specifications for rehabilitation projects.
Originally from El Salvador, Mr. Parada began his engineering education by earning an advanced associate degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Technology before relocating to the United States. He continued his studies at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering.
